funny things said...

So far, I've accumulated some funny things people have said to me while in Argentina. For example:

-(talking to an elderly lady in front of the supermarket): "well, my dear, I'm 86.....[the conversation continues for a bit]...no! wait, I'm 82!

-fellow teacher James, who is wonderfully married with a super family in passing says:
"so are you going to go get something from the hot lunch lady today?" what he really meant (and he really did) is: "are you going to get a hot lunch from the lunch lady today?"

-one of my students who's main language is Spanish while taking a test:
"ah, Mr. Schimlliff, can I take out a rubber?" (he totally meant eraser, "goma" means both eraser and rubber (the bouncy material, not the, well, you get it)
